Saul Leiter: “Being ignored is a great privilege. That’s how I think I learned to see what others do not see and react to situations differently. I simply looked at the world, not really prepared for anything.”

The ARTISTIC CATEGORY is for those of you wishing to do something more creative with your images, where you are free to edit with greater freedom, make composites and so forth.
We look for images that make the difference. Images that communicate moods, images that are beautiful but not cloying. We do not want to propose beautiful women, pretty flowers, sunsets or enchanting landscapes. We seek soul, joy, and pain. We seek perfect imperfection. Screams, uneasiness, happiness. Manipulation is understood not as the perfection of the photographic technique, it’s more than that. In some instances, the photograph alone may be the art. In others, it’s the start point or driving force within the resulting art. The images must express a personal research by the photographer. Let's not talk about accidental shots masked with over-processing.
The Jury
Michael Dressel, Richard Bram, John Gill, Julia Coddington, Gabi Ben Avraham, Siegfried Hansen, Ovidiu Șelaru, Ana Abrão, Margarita Mavromichalis, Kevin Lim, Ximena Echagüe,
Batsceba Hardy, Michael Kennedy, Keef Charles, Fabio Balestra
Copyright: All submitted images remain the sole property of the artist/photographer. By entering the contest you acknowledge that the pictures can be used by ProgresFestival for marketing purposes and in connection with upcoming contests, both in printed and digital form.
Progressive Street on FB
Hey guys, we’ve decided to run a Challenge in Progressive Street on FB with a difference: MONEY. Yep, it ties in with the ProgresFestival and will run until 31 July. Many of you prefer the informality of our Challenges so here’s your chance to get your images in front of the judges. But, we must stress, 20 images only, so don’t go crazy in the first week, number them when you post, and make sure you send your best over the coming weeks. Each week we will choose an image among those awarded in the #money Gallery and it will be published on the Festival website, thus participating in the Festival itself. [Competing]. At the end of the Challenge, other images will be chosen to participate in the Festival and will be published on the Festival website pending the final judgment of the judges.
#money (1,2,3,....) The challenge (maximum 20 images) ends on 31 July. Only a pic per day!
On the occasion of the ProgresFestival we want to launch the hashtags #moneyprogressive and #nostalgiaprogressive on Instagram. The best photos will be shown in the stories curated by @andreratto and @theodorostopalis
Some photos will appear on the festival website, thus winning participation in the Festival and the opportunity to appear in front of the jury. Competing
