Elisa e Salvatore si preparano a festeggiare il Capodanno virtuale, davanti a un monitor, non per scelta ma a causa di ciò che tutti noi abbiamo vissuto...
"Luoghi diSgregazione” è il nuovo progetto ideato da Elisa Santoro e Salvatore Uccello che vogliono esprimere un concetto particolare di solitudine ed isolamento, quello percepibile nei luoghi abbandonati che sono soliti visitare, ed in particolare in luoghi di aggregazione abbandonati e dimenticati.
Questi luoghi sono diversi e raccontano svariati tipi di socialità: chiese, scuole, discoteche, hotel, ristoranti, parchi divertimento e tanti altri ancora. Luoghi che sono stati testimoni di tanta vita, svago ed aggregazione ma che ora sono uno sbiadito ricordo di tutto ciò.
Ogni luogo abbandonato è di per sé malinconico, ma in questi posti particolari in cui la vita pulsava vivida e animatamente, questo senso di isolamento e di abbandono è ancora più forte. Colori, suoni e profumi sono stati sostituiti da buio, silenzio e puzza di umidità.
L’uomo è un animale sociale, è vero, ma è anche vero che spesso si ha memoria breve di ciò che è stato e si dimenticano in fretta luoghi che hanno significato inclusione, divertimento, crescita, aggregazione. Basta un cambio di mode, di abitudini, di compagnie, un fallimento, un disastro ambientale oppure un evento pandemico e questi luoghi che prima erano un’isola felice ed un’oasi di spensieratezza dove trascorrere ore piacevoli in compagnia, cadono nell’oblio e nel dimenticatoio.

“Unbundling places” is the new project conceived by Elisa Santoro and Salvatore Uccello who want to express a particular concept of solitude and isolation, the one perceivable in the abandoned places they usually visit, and in particular in abandoned and forgotten places of aggregation.
There are many different ones and tell various types of sociality: churches, schools, discos, hotels, restaurants, amusement parks and many others. Places that have witnessed so much life, leisure and aggregation but which are now a faded reminder of all this.
Each abandoned place is in itself melancholy, but in these particular places where life pulsed lively, this sense of isolation and abandonment is even stronger. Colours, sounds and scents have been replaced by darkness, silence and the smell of humidity.
Man is a social animal, it is true, but it is also true that people often have a short memory of what has been and quickly forget places that have meant inclusion, fun, growth, and aggregation. Just a change of fashions, habits, friendships, a failure, an environmental disaster or a pandemic event and these places that were previously a happy island and carefree oasis where you can spend pleasant hours in the company, fall into oblivion.
