This is Nadia's third book, written at the suggestion of Batsceba Hardy. The author aimed to give her characters a voice, and this work reflects that effort. Nadia's longstanding fascination—with what we can now define as an obsession—with the people behind the glass has contributed to the development of her unique style. This style has evolved into something she is comfortable with, and she plans to continue exploring it now that she has consciously completed her formal evolution as a writer. Her next venture will be a personal exhibition.

Nadia Eeckout

"I’m Nadia Eeckhout, based in Belgium. I was born on the coast (Blankenberge), but for over thirty years now, I’ve lived in Ghent, a cosy, vibrant city where I usually take my pictures. I always hope for unexpected encounters with small stories and unwritten poems to pop up. These are magical moments to me. If I am able to freeze them, my heart jumps with joy.
I am fascinated by the effect of windows, glass, or any other transparent medium on the scene behind them.
They not only welcome any weather type on their panes (in this way enhancing mood and triggering my imagination), but they are even as generous as to reflect what is on the other side, bringing different stories together and presenting them as one. To be able to capture that fused tale in a photograph is what makes street photography so interesting and valuable to me.
I’ve been shooting through windows for about four years now, and it feels like I have not ended the journey yet."
