Pia Parolin

Pia Parolin is an Italian-German biologist, photographer, and book author. With a PhD in biology and decades of research in the Amazon, she blends science and photography to explore the fragile connection between humans and nature.
Her photographic work focuses on the urban, the ephemeral, and our relationship with water. She captures moments of rupture and resilience through colour, blur, and documentary storytelling. Pia’s images are exhibited internationally. She was convened to the German Photo Society DGPh and the Leica Academy. She lectures widely and has published five books on photography, two of which are with renowned street photographer Siegfried Hansen.
