The underground world of Bucharest by Alain Boucheret

I met the underground world of Bucharest several years ago each time I went to the Roma people I passed by to see them and I made a small subject on this community. drug-addicted pariahs. They began seeking refuge in the sewers nearly two decades ago after the fall of communism.

Now this strange and literally underground community has bonded together to become a family. Hundreds of people live in the tunnels of Bucharest's sewer network not only adults but children, who have nowhere to go, but here they have food and water and heat.

They almost have all HIV and TB. It can be dangerous. To be admitted inside their world there is a leader, an elusive and mysterious man known as Bruce Lee. A king for those who live underground. He also wears full-body scar medals he has a large pack of dogs with him.
