Mexico City, Day 1
After a long travel day from New York, we (me and my son Sam) found ourselves in Mexico City.
The two hour time difference made us wake early and we had the hotel breakfast as soon as they opened.
We were out on the streets shooting away at 8:30. In the square near our hotel, vendors were already selling mexican breakfasts, but most were packing up with even more pushing their carts to their designated place for the day. It was a joy to shoot! A nice cool +20C sure helped. We had decided to get to know the area close to the hotel since it was our first day and we criss-crossed our way north towards the main central square, the Zocalo. There, we had a long good look at the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico_City_Metropolitan_Cathedral). The Spanish built this not long after they had defeated the Aztecs, in part using the stones from their pyramids, close by. The ruins of those pyramids are open to see and we had a look.
After a 3,5 hours of street photography and tourism we had lunch on tacos in a small place and went back to the hotel for a nap. We did another 4 hour photo walk in the afternoon and early evening before getting back to the hotel completely exhausted.
