Mexico City, Day 9
Hello everybody!
On day 9, April 4th, Sam and I first took the metro and then changed to a bus to get to the magnificent Museo Soumaya. It's an art museum financed by the richest man in Mexico, Carlos Slim.
After having a look at the art inside, we had lunch at a nearby shopping centre.
The museum is on the outskirts of a very posh neighbourhood, Polanco. We walked for a while on Avenida Presidente Masaryk, where there are a whole lot of really expensive stores. Think jewelers like Cartier and Tiffany's and the designer brands to match, and you get the picture. We quickly got a bit bored since this was shopping out of our league, and there were not many people about, so we got a bus out of there.
Next was the Avenida Paseo de la Reforma or Reforma for short. It's a broad, green avenue with wide sidewalks on either side and another walkway in the middle. Lots of large banks and other office buildings line the street.
After a six hour excursion, we made our way back to the hotel for a bit of rest before going out for dinner and a proper night shoot, the first one of the trip. I did one more and I think I'll do a special blog post about those nights. Most of the photos here are from the Reforma and all from the first walk of the day.
Be well!
Niklas

When I'm on my travels, i sometimes blog here
I've always liked to travel and have taken a lot of photos when I do. Since 2010, I've travelled extensively and combined my longing to discover the world with a growing passion for street photography.
My old photo blog was written between 2013 and 18. Beware, it's in Swedish and has 776 episodes.
